Anna + Mark // Manitowoc Surprise Wedding Reception

This is a special one, folks. Anna is my aunt, but growing up with just a few years between us felt more like sisterhood. We’ve seen each other in our most embarrassing outfits, supported each other at the end of our rope, and celebrated big wins together. Her road to Mark was full of loss and trial, but I think she’d agree that it was all worth it to be with the absolute love of her life. The way he cherishes, respects, and chooses her every day and in every way is the kind of thing you dream of, and I’m so glad she’s got it - nobody could be more deserving.

When she and I could finally see each other this spring, we started hatching a plan to surprise her husband with the wedding they’d had to postpone in 2020. Anna + her girls got ready at the hotel, then I accompanied Mark’s daughter to deliver a suit + note to clue him in on what his day was about to turn into. After the ambush, he got to see his stunning bride at their first look, greet their wedding party, and hang out with a room full of friends + family who’d come to celebrate them. The evening finished up on the rooftop of the Maritime Museum, overlooking the wharf and a glowing sunset. Seeing the smiles on their faces is a memory I won’t soon forget.
